THE LAST HOTEL

A boutique hotel with a rich architectural history

In 2017, developers Fe Equus purchased a historic building in St. Louis, MO with the intention of turning it into a boutique hotel. In the heart of downtown, the stunning Art Deco stone building was most known for being the headquarters for the International Shoe Company in the 1900s. Fellow was tapped to create the brand identity that would eventually become The Last Hotel. The name pays homage to the wooden lasts used in shoemaking, while many of the brand elements were designed to mirror the intricate details of the building itself. The Last Hotel wordmark is a custom typeface that reflects the carved lettering on the facade. The full identity showcases the culture, history and richness that was woven into this unique era, creating a memorable experience for all guests.
